Oh hello people, let me introduce myself. My name is Milly, I am from the Netherlands but also have a Canadian passport. Where I am from is quite complicated and explaining takes a whole lot time. At times I don't even know where I am truly from. In fact my parents wanted to move back to Canada this year, for a fear I might have an identity crisis. I have been living in Abu Dhabi for two years now, and its been the best time of my life. The culture and all the diversity is so amazing and such a breath of fresh air from a small town in Canada I used to live in. Since I am bilingual and english is my second language, I have always struggled with writing. I hope that this year I will be able to improve on those skills. It is important to study language because language is how you communicate with others and express yourself .
The things I most care about would be my family and friends. These are the people that get me going and the reason I wake up in the morning. I know that sounds all cliche and sweet but it really is true. This year I know is going to be tough since I started DP. Even this blog post was a struggle to write and though I don't have to write anything super significant. This coming year I hope to travel more, meet new people, and also pass grade 11. Ill try to update this blog as much as possible.
Well have a fantastic day,
Byeeeee
Heres a picture describing me
Loved your first entry. 100% would recommend.
ReplyDeleteGreat introduction of what to look forward to this year.
ReplyDeleteI agree that things are going to get harder for the next two years of DP - but if you organize your time, everything will at least be manageable. And obviously, you're not the only one going through it alone so we got your back. :)
ReplyDeleteI can really relate to what you mentioned about english being your second language, therefore having trouble with your writing. When I first moved to Canada I had the exacts same problem, but what helped me is finding something I'm passionate about and writing away.
ReplyDeleteLeuke post, goed gedaan
ReplyDeleteWait a minute... I'm also kind of Dutch and from small town Canada.
ReplyDeleteI hope these blog posts help you to develop the quality of your writing and improve your confidence.
